History: Once upon a time there was a man who very much wanted a child of his own. However his desperate nature chased all women away. This man was very smart, a member of MENSA, and a skilled scientist. But he was just a tiny bit insane. (It ran in the family.)
One day this man ran into a pregnant hooker. He took this woman in, got her off drugs, helped her get her GED, and promised to take care of her child once he or she was born. He delighted in this, but his insanity slowly started to take over and he began to secretly slip the woman experimental drugs he had created. He wanted the child in her womb to be perfect and worried about it being addicted to coke and other drugs. He monitored the child carefully.
The hooker began to become suspicious. (It didn't help that she had become obsessed with the book Rosemary's Baby and it's sequel.) She tried to leave, but he caught her. Angry, he induced labor but with tragic consequences. Both the mother and child died during the birth. Unwilling to give up on his dream, he took the dead baby and began to deliever electrical shocks to her tiny blue form. This not only brought her back, but activated her dormant mutant gene. Though still having some human properties, the baby basically became one giant computer program.
The scientist loved this child in his own insane way. He never told her what her past really was, only that her mother was dead. Then one day Kyla found a diary her mother had kept including her suspicions. When Kyla confronted her "father" with this he went crazy and tried to kill her. Kyla electrocuted him to death. Afraid of being arrested she ran away, leaving the diary behind right on top of the scientist's body. Eventually she joined up with the Tunnel Rats but she has a hard time being there because of all the moisture in their underground home.
Appearance: Kyla's appearance varies as she wishes, but she cannot make her height or weight different from what they are other then by growing up and maturing. Her natural appearance though is that of computer pixels.
