Dee, aka Salamandra, is for the "new & improved" Project Gladiator.
Though I liked PG fine the way it was other people whined so now we switched
it to a new universe. I'm sad cause I can't play Pearl or Ripdash anymore.
:-( If I ever find out the dorks who whined and complained are I'm going
to beat them senseless for being inconsiderate jerks. I like Dee, but I'd
rather have the old PG back.

DESCRIPTION:
Short but curvy. Pretty but not stunning. Hair is curly but only falls
about halfway down her neck, usually clipped back. There's just the faintest
traces of having Asian and African anscestory way, way back in her family
tree.
HISTORY:
Dee was born in Florida during the time her father, a general in the Air
Force, was stationed there. For the first 8 years of her life, Dee was an
AF brat - moving from one base to another. But while stationed in Alaska,
Dee's mother got fed up and sued for divorce. Proving her husband was abusive
even though in reality he was not, Dee's mother got full custody of her.
Dee never saw her father again. Depressed, he managed to steal a plane and
purposely crashed it into a mountainside.
Dee ran away when she was 16, but was returned to the house within an
hour by her uncle. Her mother beat the living crap out of her. In the middle
of this Dee's powers manifested for the first time. First her TK stopped
the beating fists of her mother, then her mom's clothing caught on fire.
It wasn't until her uncle hit her in the back of the head with a frying pan
that the attacks stopped. The teenage mutant was in a coma for over 2 years.
When she woke up she found out her father's parents had sued and won to take
over the care of her. She caught up on her education and graduated from college
with the highest honors.
Dee is an excellent singer, actress, dancer, and piano player. Currently
it's by doing shows in jazz clubs and occasional musicals that she earns
her living. Yet something is missing - she needs something more.... she needs
to be - a hero.
Dee fell in love with the Viking known as Valor. So when his mun, Forrest, decided he needed a break from playing Valor, we decided to have Valor and Dee carried off by Valkeries. Below is my new PG character, Spade.

Communicate with Animals/Plants: GD (10) This power is communication only, and not control. As a natural spirit, Spade does not believe in forcing any animal or plant to risk itself for her.
Shrinking: EX (20) Spade may shrink down to 1" high, and gets a +2CS to hit normal sized targets, and as such is -2CS to be hit in return.
Pixie Dust: IN (40) This dust obscures sight in an area by it's rank, filling the area with colorful sparkles and rainbows, obscuring vision for everyone there. If Spade is small, she may only use this power on a single target, and not an entire area.
-Confuse Dust (IN (40)) This dust may confuse a single target. They target must roll a psyche feat, or be confused. Spade may only use this against one target at once, and if small receives a - 3CS to her rank.
-Flying Dust (IN (40)) This dust bestows the power to fly to a single target. The target can fly up to rank -2CS speed, and may maintain this ability as long as they do not touch the ground. This power does not require happy thoughts. Note that Spade uses this on herself constantly.
-Fire Dust (IN (40)) Spade may set a single target on fire, doing rank damage. When small, she inflicts - 3CS damage.

Equipment:
Magic Wand - Spade possess a fairy wand. This wand enhances flowers and makes colors brighter. It has no use in combat, and may heal a target of up to 10 points of damage, but only if they are thinking nice thoughts. This wand also allows her to "shoot" her fairy dust at a target, instead of sprinkling it down.
PI (Private Investigator) License, 9mm gun.
Weaknesses:
Spade is especially weak against electrical powers. A small shock can knock her senseless for half a round, a larger shock could knock her out for up to 3 rounds.
Appearance:
Constantly dyes her hair wild colors. Her favorite is bubble-gum pink. She also has pierced ears and tongue, plus a few places that no one knows about except her. A tattoo of a white rose with red tips with it's stem piercing a heart on her upper right thigh, an butterfly on her shoulder, and a royal flush on her upper left arm. When she takes off her long leather trench coat (made for a woman, not a man thank you very much) she reveals two sets of wings. One large and a smaller two just under them. They're delicate looking but actually rather tough. They're like a dragonfly's wings in appearance, always shining with a rainbow of colors.
History:
Melinda, Mandy to her friends, was born in Las Vegas, Nevada to a showgirl mother and a gambler father. Typical for Vegas. Her whole life was typical - for a Vegas kid. Her mom assumed Mandy would follow in her footsteps and therefore taught her how to dance, strip, seduce men, sing, and pimp herself. Mandy wanted none of this though. She didn't want the bright lights, she didn't want to give up her virginity, she didn't want men period. Her view on sex, thanks to her mother, is that of disgust and apathy.
At 11 Mandy hit puberty and found herself in quite a predicament. For suddenly her mother was becoming even more pushy. Mandy soon found her mother actually trying to sell her into marriage to a Las Vegas pimp! This was the last straw and Mandy went straight to children's social services and was put into a nice foster home where she had a normal life from then on out, even when her powers manifested and suddenly she grew wings. In fact, her foster brother, Rupert, was also a mutant and together they learned to control their powers. He was the first one to notice the sprouting of the delicate wings on her back when she was 12 years old. Rupert's mutant talent included that of hyper-intelligence and with this he was able to gain her the wand she still carries to this day. He even gave her the nick name Spade because they both loved the book The Maltese Falcon. Mandy's good at sneaking around and gathering information no one else can. Because of these things she has become a detective. Her lessons from her biological mother help her in this line of work as well as she can disguise herself as many different things and make men (or women) think she's actually interested in them.
When Mandy was 16 her foster brother came out not only as a homosexual, but he also had HIV. However despite what people think, he actually got it from a blood transfusion when he was a small boy before they regularly tested donated blood. He died when Mandy was 20 when he contracted double pneumonia. This left a huge hole in Mandy's life. However she still talks with her foster parents (who still at the age of 60 take in kids, especially mutants) every chance she gets. Mandy's not anti-social, she's just not into sex or dating. She's not a lesbian like some people think either, though she may be bisexual. In fact, all she really needs is to meet the right person be they male or female. For now she's a workaholic but loves a good party.
